Well, my birthday is over and I must say something about God and how he has been an integral part of my life!
My parents died when I was very young and from then on, with no permanent home to be called mine, I had to go stay with my uncle and aunty. Life from then on was a roller coaster ride of up and downs, twister and straights, with variable speeds and occasional pit stops. We were too young when we were at the hospital, looking into the same glass aquarium whithin which mother had died a few years before, as we stood there looking at the monitors drawing a clear straight line indicating the end of the road for our father as well.
The first things that raced across my mind was, where am I going to stay? But God sorted all of that out and our uncle and aunty took all of us home. They were doing well and as such they were more than glad to have us with them. At hindsite, this would be one of the first real moment of truth with God. Thank God, Thank God, Thank God.
The stay with my uncle and aunty led me to understand the many aspects of human interaction if I may call it. The love that they had to share with us and their kids as well, the effort put into making us understand our good versus bad, their good versus bad, our mistakes as well as their mistakes, the exposure to the rich and famous, business and integrity... Well to cut the long story short, our depositions into each other's lives enriched us as we grew not only to realise God's love but also to lose him along the way and only to have him invite us ever so gently back! Thank God, Thank God, Thank God!
I will leave the rest for another post.....
